4. How to Enter: During the Promotion Period, complete and submit ONA10 drawing tickets provided during the 2010 Online News Association Conference for automatic entry. See Section 5 below for drawing times. Alternatively send an email message with the subject line “ONA10 Sweepstakes entry” and your full name, mailing address, email address and telephone number to ONA10@journalists.org no later than noon ET on October 29 and October 30, 2010. Each valid email message will result in one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. Valid email entries received by noon ET on Oct. 30, 2010 will be entered into both the Grand Prize Drawing and the First Prize Drawing. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, misdirected or unintelligible email entries or for the failure to receive entries for any reason including as a result of technical failures or errors of any kind and all such entries will be disqualified. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Maximum five (5) entries permitted per person, regardless of the entry method(s) used.

5. Winner Selection: Sponsor will randomly select one (1) Grand Prize Winner and two (2) First Prize Winners from among all eligible ticket and email entries previously received during the Promotion Period.  (See section 4 above for email entry deadlines). The drawing for all prizes will take place on Oct. 30, 2010, between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. ET. Participants need not be present to win. The Winners will be notified during the conference, if present, and will receive either in person or by mail. If any Winner is a Canadian resident, as a condition of receiving a prize, he or she will be required to first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question without any assistance. In the event that any Winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner selected by random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries received.

6. Prizes:  One (1) Grand Prize consisting of an Apple iPAD (Actual Retail Value: $599) and Three (3) First Prizes consisting of Two (2) 16GB iPod Nanos (Actual Retail value: $298 each) and a free pass to the Society for News Design’s 2011 Conference (Actual Retail Value: $495) will be awarded in the Sweepstakes. (Prize values are stated in U.S. Dollars). The total retail value of all prizes to be awarded in the Sweepstakes is $1,690. The odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. No cash or other substitutions by winner are allowed. All prizes are subject to availability and Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize or component of equal or greater retail value. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate prize claims.

7. Release: By acceptance of a prize, each Winner agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its advertising/promotion agencies, and prize supplier, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or the receipt or use or misuse of any prize.

8. Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes each Winner’s consent to Sponsor’s and its agents’ use of Winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown or promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.

9. General Conditions: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Sweepstakes, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

10. Governing Law: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the participants and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the District of Columbia without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the District of Columbia or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than California.
